Here is a list of stand-alone programs designed to print bar code labels. • BARCODE 2000 for UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms, a high performance, multi-platform, server-based label printing software supporting popular applications (Oracle or Progress). The software is application and printer independent. Printer mapping lets you design the label once and print on multiple printer types around the network without additional design work. • Barcode 97 is a barcode generating program for Windows 3.1. This program is Freeware and has no restrictions. Supports barcode formats EAN, UPC, CodABar, Code 2 of 5, Code 3 of 9 and file formats BMP, TeX and Postscript. EAN barcodes can be drawn in the standard layout. The code can be added as text in a desired font. Easy to use, with user friendly interface, including a preview window for the barcode. Barcodes may be copied to the Windows clipboard. • Barcode Magic is a utility to create custom barcodes. Simply select your barcode style, enter your text, and a barcode graphic will automatically be created. You can copy this graphic into a Window application, save it to file, or print it out. From Ichiku Software.

• Barcode Maker 2 allows you to make your EAN and UPC barcodes with ease and copy and paste it into your document or print a barcode image list. You may save your barcode images in *.RTF (Rich Text Format) From Lars Sams.
• BAR-ONE® demo has WYSIWYG representation and features found on the best professional design applications, combined with the capability to be easily integrated into existing applications on multiple computing platforms. • Bar Tender for Windows, is a full featured WYSIWYG label program from Seagull Scientific. Includes ODBC support. More information about the product is available here.
• Bar Code Pro for Windows creates PostScript (EPS), Windows metafiles (WMF) or bit-mapped graphics for the eighteen most common bar code symbologies. Bar Code Pro graphics can be used with any of the popular desktop publishing software including PageMaker, Quark Xpress, Corel, Freehand, or AmiPro just to name a few. From SYNEX .
• B-Coder Pro automates bar code production in Word, Access and other Windows applications. • bookland.py is a free program written in Python for printing Bookland bar code. You simply key in the ISBN and price and the program translates to the proper EAN-13 bar code number and prints a Postscript file to print the bar code.
• BCWIN.zip is a label generation program from DATHO, a German company.
• EASYLABEL® from Tharo Systems, Inc. is an RFID enabled product identification and bar code label design software. Free demo versions can be downloaded from their web site. There are versions in English, Catalan, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish and Russian. You can get more details about the program from their site. • LabelGo v1.02 for Windows is a full-featured label design/printing program that prints labels, envelopes and checks. Supports 21 bar code types including POSTNET, Code 39, UPC, EAN. • LabelWorks (demo) is an easy-to-use, wysiwyg label design program from Rivers Edge. The program can import data from most database formats and has a large number of pre-made templates. You can also create your own formats and include graphics, rotated text/bar codes, auto incremented fields and more. More information about the product can be found here.

• Wbar25.zip (version 2.5) is designed to generate barcodes in other Windows applications. The code is generated and copied to the Clipboard for pasting into the other application.
